What is AAC?
|
|
AAC is known as "Advanced Audio Coding" and is an ISO 13818-7 standard format, a multi-channel audio coding standard.
AAC is MPEG-2/MPEG-4 audio and is found on Apple's iTunes (iPod) files as well as Nero Digital Audio files. In simple terms, AAC in iTunes is an encoded format for Digital Rights Management (DRM) and for streaming purposes. The iTunes files can only be played on iTunes (iPod) and will not play on MovieStar/Mvisto.
MovieStar/Mvisto currently support only "Adaptive Audio Coding" - a RAW version of AAC (MPEG-2/MPEG-4) files. This version of AAC is pure encoded audio data without any other text information such as the ID3 tags in MP3. |
