Overview

NT2

The ultra compact design of the NT2 makes this dual-bay storage enclosure one of the smallest in the market, yet still packing a punch when it comes to flexibility and performance. Installing the 3.5" hard drives is easy and quick, thanks to the screwless design. The system offers two setup options, either Non-RAID to create two independent volumes or JBOD to combine both drives and create one large volume.

Dual-Bay Storage Enclosure

The NT2 is designed to house up to two 3.5" SATA hard drives with the option to setup your drives according to your own preferences. Create one large volume for extra storage or use the two drives as independent volumes.

RAID

Non-RAID

The drives show up as independent volumes. Each drive can be formatted and accessed separately. If one drive fails, the other is not affected. This setting does not provide any performance or redundancy benefits.

JBOD - Disk Spanning

The drives show up as one large single volume, with a total capacity of twice the size of the drive with the smallest capacity. Spanning is an array (not RAID) that is written sequentially across the drives. By itself, it does not provide any performance or redundancy benefits. If one drive becomes damaged, the whole array can become corrupted.

Remarks

  • The NT2 U2 does not support RAID. For RAID 0 or RAID 1, see the other models in the NT2 series of hard drive enclosures.
