DTV Streamer

inXtron expands its digital signage portfolio with the addition of their DTV Streamer.

Taipei, Taiwan, January 18, 2010 / -- inXtron, a premiere digital signage solutions provider, has announced this week that it is ready to unveil its DTV Streamer for playing digital television content via its D8-M3 player. The DTV Streamer supports the DVB-T system, receiving the digital TV signal over the air and streaming it via network connection to the main screen of the D8-M3 platform.

At the end of 2009, the worldwide digital signage market surpassed US$2 billion according to some estimates. As the market continues to expand, so does the need for different digital signage solutions. With this in mind, inXtron has developed the DTV Streamer to enhance its digital signage offerings. In doing so, D8-M3 users have the ability to stream digital television content as a cost-effective way to address the need for digital signage that allows the user to select the content they want to view.

This ability to play news or television programming is ideal for digital signage set up in places where a person may be for an extended period of time, such as company waiting areas, airports and hospitals. While waiting on an appointment you can conveniently and easily catch up on the news or be entertained while watching your favorite show.

A barrier for some wanting to enter the digital signage market is the cost associated with developing content. Creating fresh new content that is interesting and appealing from scratch can be time-consuming and expensive. Playing repeat advertising over and over again will quickly loose the viewer. According to Tommy Chen, inXtron CEO, "The DTV Streamer was created to enable customers to provide continuous interesting content at a lower cost. While the content is playing the D8-M3 can concurrently display advertisements. It’s a win-win situation; the viewer is captivated and the customer is able to generate advertising revenue."
